1. Sky Mall filed for bankruptcy because of the loss of customer looking through their magazines and buying things. This was because of the use of electronic devices on the plane.
2. Sky Mall could have prevented this by having online catalogs or placing adds on tv or the internet.
After some odd years in business, the company Skymall is going out of business. The catalogs “in our seatback pockets” (NPR.org) have fallen victim to new technology and wi-fi advancements on air flights. They could have prevented going out of business if they just made an electronic issue. To appeal to the reader’s sentimental value can be a powerful thing. People might want to read the article, but they also want to check their email or play games on their devices. That is how they could have prevented company bankruptcy.
Sky Mall was the unfortunate victim of technology upgrades. With Wifi on planes and online shopping, no one bothers to flip through the far-fetched products Sky Mall has to offer. The result was Sky Mall’s file for bankruptcy. Sky Mall should have gone with the trend by creating an online catalogue option and offering some products that sane people might be interested in. No one needs a Sasquatch garden statue or the world’s softest and most expensive pillow.
SkyMall is a shopping catalog on airplanes. According to the USA Today article they filed bankruptcy because with all of our technology and electronics we use, no one reads their catalog, leading them to lose money. I think SkyMall could have had planes ban electronics or make a online catalog or app for people to look through on their electronics while they are playing on them. This would have lead people to still be on their electronics, and SkyMall still having costomers.
A hard year draws to a close with some changes to a favorite airline magazine- it’s going bankrupt! SkyMall magazine has had a rocky end, with consumers opting to look at electronic devices instead of browsing the ridiculous products advertised in the magazine. Los Angeles Times states that “Analysts warn that SkyMall must modernize or join the Montgomery Ward and Sears catalogs on the scrap heap of retail history.” To avoid the misfortune that has befallen SkyMall, they should’ve made online magazines, to appeal more to the new generation of online shoppers.
1. SkyMall is a company that made magazines offering some of the most ridiculous and silly products on the market. These articles used to be offered on many airlines, but since planes have started offering Wi-Fi, people are losing interest in SkyMall magazines.
2. SkyMall could have prevented being dropped by many airlines by making an online magazine. People are often more fascinated by something if it is on the internet.
SkyMall, the ubiquitous in-flight catalog that always reliably greets you in the seatback pocket, is falling victim to technological innovation. No one wants to read the catalog because they can easily read it online. They then filed for bankruptcy because no one was reading their catalog. They could have put in an electric catalog so it would be more appealing to readers. Most people don’t like regular reading they like it on an electronic device because it’s “easier.”
SkyMall got bankrupt because the U.S. FAA allowed electronics on the plane during the take-off and the landing, SkyMall should’ve used this moment to expand their company and make an app and/or a YouTube account. This would be more sensible than to just wait things out and do NOTHING AT ALL!!!!!!!! Plus, they’d probably still have customers buying their items if they’d done that.

The company SkyMall is bracing for a hard financial landing. The company is filing for federal bankruptcy. The cause of this is the use of electronic devices on planes has increased dramatically. People are now using their tablets and phones to shop. SkyMall catalog sales also dropped causing them to go bankrupt. Also, air carriers provide internet access. Plane riders can use their cell phone and electronic devices during certain time intervals on the plane.
What actions should SkyMall have taken in order to avoid this situation?
My Response:
Actions SkyMall should have taken in order to avoid this situation is to make the company seem better than catalog shopping, or have better deals, and lastly have a more efficient selection of things to purchase. In my opinion, buyers want deals to look forward to. They also want the think they are buying to seem better than other things they could buy, more extravagant, and more efficient.
The company SkyMall is going in to bankrupt. Wonder why they are going into bankrupt? The company SkyMall is going to bankrupt because all of the technology on planes and electronics. People use electronics and technology and don’t take a look at the SkyMall catalogs in the back seat pocket. SkyMall loose money by people not look through and buying stuff. The actions SkyMall should have taken to avoid this dilemma. SkyMall should have make a app or make ads or make videos. This is some of the ideas they should do.
The Sky Mall Company had filed for bankruptcy and most people had looked forward to buying things but they we’re to expensive.
They should have made their prices for things reasonable and then they probably wouldn’t have filed for bankruptcy.

SkyMall is going bankrupt, this is because it’s all about electronics now. SkyMall is a magazine and now all people do is have their noses in their phones. If SkyMall wants to keep making profits they should invest in something to do with technology, like an app. Websites could also help with profits for SkyMall. If people would rather be looking at their phone instead of a magazine, then SkyMall should use it to an advantage.
SkyMall is going bankrupt, sound weird huh? If you have ever have rode an airplane you have at least seen one of their catalogs. They could have prevented this by placing ads in electronic phones and items. They are going bankrupt because of the fact that they consisted the magazines in the airplanes and not switching to electrical advertisement.

Skymall was a company where you could buy really weird stuff from magazines that they had on planes. The bad thing is why they didn’t have lots of customers is because where the magazines were the people that have jobs on the air planes they didn’t know how to sell and item if someone wNted to buy something they didn’t know what to do. They just told the customers to go online.
One thing they could’ve done to prevent this is tell the people working on the air planes what to do if someone wanted to buy an item. The skymall workers could put on the magazines a website they could go to, to buy stuff. They could’ve have more details to people so they wouldn’t go out of business.
